Merlin Series 5 Finale Pictures Released

The BBC today released a set of four pictures from the 13th and final episode of the current series of Merlin.

The episode, whose title has not yet been announced, is due to be broadcast on BBC One on Saturday 29th December, and images are usually released the preceding Tuesday, but the BBC is making this set public more than a month in advance.


Pictures from episode 9 - entitled With All My Heart, which airs on Saturday 1st December at 8pm - will be released tomorrow.

Merlin: The Hollow Queen

A gallery of pictures from episode eight of Merlin - The Hollow Queen - has been released by the BBC today.

The story will air at 8pm on Saturday 24th November on BBC One and will guest-star Alfie Stewart as Daegal, John Shrapnel as Sarrum, Matthew Clancy as Albin, and Mitch Benn as Gerrin.

When Merlin agrees to help a young Druid boy, Daegal, he has no choice but to leave Camelot on a dangerous mission. And with the citadel distracted by the visit of the fearsome Sarrum of Amata, it seems that no-one will notice his absence. But as the sky darkens so do Merlin's suspicions - is there more to Daegal than meets the eye? And can a man as ruthless as the Sarrum ever really be trusted? Before long, the young warlock realises he's made a terrible mistake.

Merlin: Episodes 9 And 10 Synopses

Episode nine of Merlin will air at 8pm on Saturday 1st December on BBC One, it has been confirmed.

Merlin knows he must act fast before Morgana's twisted control over Gwen gets further out of hand. But only the most powerful magic can save the Queen and this will not be easy, even for Merlin. As the High Priestess tightens her grip on Camelot, one thing is clear - she will not give up her puppet without a fight.

Episode 10 is currently scheduled to be broadcast on BBC One at 8pm on Saturday 8th December and will feature guest stars Gary Lewis as Alator of the Catha and Sorcha Cusack as Finna.

Morgana leads a terrifying manhunt in pursuit of her old foe Alator of the Catha, for she knows without doubt that he can tell her exactly where to find Emrys. Merlin's life has never been in more danger, so when the mysterious Finna offers to help him, is he right to trust her or will he find himself cornered with nowhere to run?

Titles for both episodes are yet to be announced. Pictures from episode 8 - The Hollow Queen - which airs next Saturday will be released by the BBC this coming Tuesday.

Merlin: Episodes 7 And 8

Episode seven of Merlin - entitled A Lesson In Vengeance - is set to air at 8pm on Saturday 17th November on BBC One, and will guest-star John Bradley as Tyr Seward.

Darkness steals into the very heart of Camelot as Morgana and her puppet Queen hatch a sinister plan to murder the King. But when stablehand Tyr Seward becomes caught in the crossfire, he threatens to ruin everything. As the plot thickens and reaches its deadly climax, can a suspicious Merlin unravel the truth before it’s too late?

Four pictures from the episode, written by Jake Michie and directed by Alice Troughton, have been released by the BBC today.

Merlin: The Dark Tower

Pictures from episode six of Merlin - entitled The Dark Tower - have been released by the BBC today:


Previously believed to have been called The Tribe, the episode will air at 8.05pm on Saturday 10th November on BBC One, and will guest-star Kelly Wenham as Queen Mab.

When Gwen is snatched from Camelot without warning, Merlin knows there can be only one person responsible: Morgana. Arthur is determined to rescue his Queen, but it will not be easy, for she is locked in the Dark Tower, a place that haunts the dreams of men. Arthur and his Knights must embark on a quest like no other, battling through a landscape riddled with hidden dangers, perilous obstacles, and magical beings. As they near their goal, Merlin's sense of dread reaches breaking point. What twisted game is Morgana playing? And more importantly, just what is the final test that awaits them in the tower?

Merlin: The Disir

Next Saturday's episode of Merlin - entitled The Disir - sees Frances Tomelty, Sian Thomas, and Helen Schlesinger guest-starring as the three eponymous soothsayers, and fellow guest star Andrew Tiernan as Osgar.

This fifth episode of the current 13-part series will air at 8.15pm on Saturday 3rd November on BBC One.

In the inky depths of an ancient pool, three soothsayers cast a dark judgment upon the king of Camelot. But despite Merlin's warnings, headstrong Arthur refuses to take the words of the Disir seriously, and their fury rains down on Camelot. Only the greatest sacrifice can appease them, and with the kingdom in jeopardy is it one that Arthur is prepared to make?
