Pictures promoting the new series of Merlin have been released by the BBC.

The 13-part run starts on BBC One on Saturday 6th October at 7.45pm with the first episode of a two-part story called Arthur's Bane. Three years on from the end of Series 4, Arthur has never felt stronger, with Queen Guinevere and the Knights of the Round Table at his side.

Camelot basks in the halcyon days of a new golden age. But even as she flowers, so the dark seeds of her destruction are being sown, for in the frozen wastelands of the north, men are disappearing without trace.

In search of answers, King Arthur and his Knights must undertake a dangerous mission to the unknown. As the sun sets on the icy plains, Merlin finds himself locked in a battle unlike any he has fought before - a battle with fate itself.

Episode 2 is currently scheduled for 7.45pm on Saturday 13th October.

Ancient prophecies of Mordred weigh heavy on Merlin, for not even he can sway Arthur from his chosen path.

As dawn breaks across the icy tundra, Merlin and Arthur are close to exhaustion. With each tortured step, the fortress of Ismere looms ever nearer and Merlin's fear intensifies. What game is Mordred playing? And what powerful secrets are Morgana and the druid Ruadan searching for amongst its twisted catacombs?

It seems like this time not even Merlin can stop Arthur from walking right into the lion's den. For in this bleak and transient wilderness, only one thing is certain: the great trial for Albion has finally begun.

Wolfblood Episodes 11 and 12 Storylines

Thursday, 27 September 2012 - Reported by John Bowman
Story details for episodes 11 and 12 of the CBBC series Wolfblood have been released by the BBC.

Rhydian starts dabbling with his Eolas powers in school and showing off to his friends. Maddy can't understand how he is doing it, as the tricks go far beyond his wolfblood senses and speed. He shares the secret with Maddy, who runs off joyously using her new skills without hearing the downside he shouts after her: you can't cross electrical fields while using it or it causes immense pain – something she finds out the hard way.

When Rhydian takes Maddy home her mum is furious at what she's been doing, but her dad is far more understanding and later Maddy finds him trying to access Eolas himself. Emma ends up forbidding a defiant Maddy from seeing Rhydian outside school, but when she storms off using her new powers once again she lands herself in trouble and needs her parents' help.
Once again it is the day of the full moon and Maddy and Rhydian aren't looking forward to a night in the den. They trick her parents and lock them in, running off to the woods to change under the full moon.

Meanwhile, Shannon has been trying to forget about the beast by throwing herself into other interests, but when handsome beast-hunter Kyle Weathers arrives in town looking for her she is soon back on side.

Out in the woods, Maddy and Rhydian are drawn by Kyle's bait and he shoots them with a tranquilliser gun, captures them, and plans to sell them. Shannon realises too late that Kyle isn't her soul mate, and she and Tom race after him to try to rescue the wolves.

Episode 11 of the 13-part fantasy action drama will air on Monday 15th October and episode 12 on Tuesday 16th October, with both instalments going out at 5.15pm.

Third Series Of Episodes Commissioned

Saturday, 22 September 2012 - Reported by John Bowman
A third series of the award-winning comedy Episodes has been commissioned by BBC Two.

The show - starring Tamsin Greig as Beverly Lincoln, Stephen Mangan as Sean Lincoln, and Matt LeBlanc as a stylised version of himself - will enter production in London and Los Angeles next year and will again be written by David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik. As with the second series, it will comprise nine episodes.

In the second series we saw the aftermath of Beverly's one-night stand with Matt. Her marriage was over and Matt's friendship with Sean was beyond repair but all were forced to work together as their sitcom, Pucks, was about to premiere.

As the series progressed we were plunged deeper into the twisted world of making television and were given an insight into the hilarious and bitter-sweet portrait gallery of megalomaniac network executives, surgically-enhanced actresses, and naked stalkers. The final episode of series two saw all the skeletons come out of the closet as affairs were uncovered and true feelings revealed.
BBC Two controller Janice Hadlow said:
I'm delighted that the critically-acclaimed Episodes is returning for a third series to BBC Two. The last season ended with a thrilling finale and like the rest of the audience I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Gregor Sharp, executive editor for comedy, said:
David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik are supremely-talented comedy writers and we're thrilled they'll be bringing their amazing cast back to the BBC for another series of Episodes.
Series 2, which aired in the UK between 11th May and 6th July 2012, averaged a consolidated audience of 1.1 million (5.17 per cent share).

In January this year, LeBlanc won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Series - Comedy or Musical for the seven-part first series of Episodes, which was shown in the UK from 9th January to 20th February 2011. The programme was nominated for Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical but lost out to Modern Family.

The show, which is a Hat Trick/Crane Klarik production for the BBC and Showtime Networks, will be executive-produced by Jimmy Mulville, Crane, Klarik, and Sharp.
