Wednesday 6th July sees the release of Titan’s hotly anticipated special Doctor Who crossover event comic starring the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors.

Written by Cavan Scott (Ninth Doctor, Vikings) and George Mann (Eighth Doctor, Dark Souls), with art by Alessandro Vitti (Avengers Arena), Ivan Rodriguez (Doktor Sleepless), Walter Giovanni (Red Sonja) and Nicola Righi (Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor), Doctor Who: Supremacy of the Cybermen is a spectacular five-part, bi-weekly adventure featuring one of the Doctor’s most iconic foes – the Cybermen - who celebrate their 50th anniversary this year.

As well as starring the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors, the series also features their comic companions – Gabby, Cindy, Alice, Rose (Billy Piper) and Captain Jack (John Barrowman)!

Issue #1 is available in stores and on digital platforms on Wednesday, July 6th 2016, supported by Titan’s third annual Doctor Who Comics Day event.

BBC Worldwide North America and Titan Comics have revealed reveal that this summer’s special Doctor Who event comic will feature the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors from Titan’s four ongoing Doctor Who series. This comic will be a spectacular five-part, bi-weekly adventure featuring one of the Doctor’s most iconic foes – the Cybermen.

Penned by best-selling authors George Mann (Eighth Doctor, Dark Souls) & Cavan Scott (Ninth Doctor, Vikings) with art by Alessandro Vitti (Secret Warriors, Captain America & Hawkeye), this highly anticipated event comic kicks-off in stores and on digital platforms Wednesday, July 6th 2016, supported by Titan’s third annual Doctor Who Comics Day event on Saturday, July 9th 2016.

2016 marks the 50th anniversary of the show’s iconic cyborgs, the Cybermen. The Cybermen first appeared in the serial ‘The Tenth Planet’ in 1966, and have been featured in Doctor Who numerous times since, including the 2006 two-part modern origin story, ‘Rise of the Cybermen’ and ‘The Age of Steel.’

 Ninth Doctor #1 (Credit: Titan)Titan Comics and BBC Worldwide have announced the ongoing Ninth Doctor comic series will continue.

 Titan Comics’ launched the Ninth Doctor in a 5-part mini-series in 2015. Due to the popularity of the Ninth Doctor, as played by Christopher Eccleston, the series will now join the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors as a monthly ongoing title.

 The Ninth Doctor comic writer, Cavan Scott (Who-ology) will continue to work on the series and says

It’s absolutely fantastic that the Ninth Doctor is returning for more adventures with Rose and Captain Jack. The new ongoing series kicks off a new era and a new mission for this much-loved TARDIS team. Along the way they’ll encounter old friends and foes as well as startling new faces. I’ve been blown away by the love for Doctor Number Nine that I’ve seen at comic cons and signings over the last year. It’s a real privilege to be continuing the Ninth Doctor’s story. It really is the trip of a lifetime.
The first in the brand new Ninth Doctor ongoing story arc will hit shelves in April 2016, with interior art on the opening three-parter by Adriana Melo (Miss Marvel, Spiderman).

UK to get individual Series 1-4 Blu-ray setsBookmark and Share

BBC Worldwide are releasing individual Blu-ray sets for Series 1-4 of Doctor Who in the UK on 31 August 2015. The discs, upscaled to 1080i HD originally formed part of the Series 1-7 box set in 2013. Australia have had the individual Series 1-4 Region B sets since 2013.

Doctor Who News has been informed that the new 1-4 releases are identical in specifications as the 1-7 set. This means the discs will play at 24fps instead of the native 25fps.
